The first day of first grade

Today was Nate's first day of first grade. He was very excited to get back to school to see all his old friends and meet his new teacher. We walked him to school this morning and got to meet his teacher - Mrs. B and see all the kids in his class. The class has about 17 kids and only 6 of them are girls!

When I picked Nate up this afternoon he said he had a good day and really likes his new class. He told me they each get jobs just like in Kindergarten but what was different is that in first grade there is the job of "the manager". Guess who the manager was today!?!? According to Nate, the manager gets everyone at the table their markers, pencils, supplies and passes out the papers. He loved it! I think this is going to be a great year for him - although it will be hard to top last year with Miss G! Here are a few photos...

Hey - it's the first day of school!

What a cutie! He picked the shoes out at the store all by himself.

On the playground.

Wow, Nate looks so grown-up. I am glad he likes school and enjoys being a "manager". He has great taste in shoes, I am glad he is sticking with low heels, unlike his father. Nate's feet will last longer. Love that kid. Grammy Jeff
