Nate-ure hike

Nate and I took the day off today, because it was Kindergarten Orientation. So this morning we went on a little nature hike. We are very lucky to have a nature preserve just a 1/2 mile from our house. Here are some of the great things we saw.

wild irises

big rocks to climb

hydrangeas

mama duck and her babies

This afternoon we went to Kindergarten Orientation. It was great. The kids were all assigned a teacher who took them to one of the 3 classrooms while the parents stayed and met with the principal. There are 55 new kindergarteners starting at the school in the fall and it looked like most of them were there today. The school is very well ranked in Massachusetts and at the same time is very diverse. Over 20 different languages are spoken in the homes of the children. It was great to meet new parents and connect with some I had met on local playgrounds in the past year. I think Nate is going to love it there.
