We went to a fun birthday party for Nate's friend Zack on Sunday. Zack goes to Tae Kwan Do classes every week, so his teacher came and held a class for all of his friends at the party. Each kid got a uniform to keep and for the most part they did really well - considering there were eight kids and none except for Zack had been in a class before. In the photo below, the teacher was asking them to focus their minds...that is a big task when you are five!!!

This old house
Memorial day weekend was pretty good around here. The weather was amazing (mid 70's) all weekend. We did a little shopping, went to a birthday party and BBQ ed in the backyard. It also kicks off the official start of home repair season. Our house was built around 1910 and needs a little work. Since we closed on our house at the end of April, we have started our "list". On the top of the list are a new roof, a new front porch, garage repair, new exterior paint, and refinishing the hard wood floors. The roofers are slated for this week, and we hope to get all this done by early fall. Here is the before photo of our house. I will try to remember to post a photo after all the work is done and it is painted.

Why are the kids doing "chinky" eyes??? Is that racially sensitive?
