A busy week off

This past week was a busy week for all of us. On top of all the usual stuff, Nate's school was closed. Unfortunately, we have not yet caught onto the idea that we should take the week off as well and on go on vacation. Instead, we juggled schedules and worked it out.

The week started with an "exciting" trip to the dentist for Nate. Actually, it was torture for all involved. Nate was very resistant to the idea of a new dentist and was not interested in cooperating for any of the appointment - which was just a cleaning. Heaven forbid if he every gets a cavity!

The week improved the next day, when Deb took him to the science museum. They saw a great exhibit on snakes and lizards, and Nate was picked out the crowd to help out with a science experiment on energy. He also had a butterfly land on his head in the butterfly exhibit. He was glowing when they got home - Deb was exhausted.

We did a few art projects during the week, but Nate's favorite was making a bird house out of a gourd. I had bought a bunch of gourds from a roadside stand a few years ago in SC. I found them last weekend, and we decided to make a bird house. He loved painting it and then covering it with glitter. All in all, it ended up being a pretty good week off.
